The Confessions of King James

OBJECTIVE
Every year, King James advertising agency creates a Bible-themed notebook for clients, based around our name. We were tasked to create the latest in the series of the Book of King James. 

STRATEGY
Find an enduring way to share the shenanigans and stories that inform and entertain the staff at the agency while we create work for our clients.

CREATIVE IDEA
We asked staff members to confess their deepest, darkest agency and advertising secrets anonymously by writing them on a slip of paper and popping them into a confession box. These confessions became the secrets hidden within the pages of the new notebook. When recipients opened the book, the inside cover was die-cut in the form of a screen to mimic the idea that they had now entered the confession booth. Even our name was concealed behind gilded edges. The books were delivered to clients as end-of-year gifts.

RESULTS
Clients got a unique and uncensored look at the rich culture of the people behind the job titles and work.

The Confessions of King James won a Loerie Award (Bronze) for General Design in 2019.
